Breast Cancer Awareness Month:Take Action
For the 31 days of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, pink ribbons appear as the impact of breast cancer is brought to the forefront of national conversation. But we know that to help those facing breast cancer, awareness alone isn’t enough.
This October, get involved. Get screened. Make a donation. Take action. Make this Breast Cancer Awareness Month about more than awareness.
Carmel Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeons and The National Breast Cancer Foundation is encouraging everyone to take action this October. Join us to raise more than awareness as we take action, support one another, and help women now.
Use your voice, passion, and dollars to help reach every woman and make sure she has access to the screening, support, and care she deserves.
Nearly 300,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and one in eight women in America will be diagnosed with the disease in their lifetimes.
We have made enormous progress in the decades-long fight against breast cancer—discovering new prevention and early-detection measures and exploring medicines and therapies to extend and save lives. However, these numbers remind us there is still urgent work to do. If you can do only one thing, schedule your screening mammogram if you are over 40. Early detection of breast cancer increases survival. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early.
Dr Grasee and Dr Bergman implore you to take action and continue the fight!
