The answer lies in the fact that many women experience dissatisfaction with their breast size, symmetry, and/or shape. The causes of this dissatisfaction may be because a woman has naturally small or disporportionate breasts or her breasts have lost volume and/or shape as a result of pregnancy or age.

Breast Augmentation with Implants
Breast augmentation with both saline and silicone gel breast implants has proven to be largely safe and very effective. Silicone implants were used in 84% and saline implants in 16% of all breast augmentations in 2020. When you meet with your plastic surgeon, you will share your goals of breast augmentaion with her. A variety of issues regarding the breast implants themselves will be discussed by your surgeon including the type of implant as well as its shape and size. The procedure including incision site (areolar, inframammary,or axillary) and position of the implants (submuscular or submammary) as well as the risks and benefits of the procedure will be reviewed. Next, you will be examined, measured, and photographed. Before and after pictures of previous patients who underwent breast augmentation are available at the office to look at during your appointment. You will be told what you can expect before, during, and after the procedure. Lastly, a price quote will be given to you at the end of the appointment.
