October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
2020 has been a powerful reminder that we are all in this together and our choices and actions have the power to protect the most vulnerable among us in a big way. The same holds true when it comes to breast cancer. Together, we can show every woman that her life is important. We can inspire hope and become a force for good to get every woman access to the care she needs.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 250,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer and 42,000 deaths each year in the U.S.. An estimated 12.4% (1 in 8) U.S. women will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Early detection of breast cancer increases survival. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early. We encourage every woman over 40 to schedule your annual mammogram.
